About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team as an independent contractor. Based on-site in Richmond, ON, this role is responsible for running and overseeing the construction site, managing a small team, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the successful delivery of the project.

This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, along with the ability to handle billing, enforce forecasts, manage project scope, and interpret construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations of the construction site and ensure work progresses safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage and mentor a small site team.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Track progress, enforce forecasts, and ensure alignment with project scope.
• Manage and approve billings while maintaining accurate financial tracking.
• Conduct regular site meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Identify risks and issues early and implement practical solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date site documentation, including daily logs, safety records, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
• Proven ability to independently run and manage a construction site.
• Strong experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ability to manage billing processes and enforce project forecasts.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and understanding project scope.
• Strong working knowledge of construction methodologies, safety protocols, and Ontario Building Code.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in project management software tools.
• Must have lived in Canada for at least the past 10 years to be eligible for Secret Security Clearance.
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, Gold Seal, or other recognized project management certification (preferred).
• Experience working with municipalities and inspectors in Ontario.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
